About Me
I created Healthy Renewals in an effort to help people recovering from all forms of trauma heal themselves. Healthy Renewals is about redeveloping a know thyself mentality. A return to your truth and confidence. Knowing boundaries, setting them around the right people and reigniting the strength and fire within your spirit to maintain truth and clarity of who you are and what you need.
I am a strong believer in using the power of healthy food and physical exercise to help a person mentally and physically overcome disabilities. I believe that using our spiritual connection, mental strength and clarity, and our faith - with exercise- is the key to recovery. Exercise is a major component of this program. It creates an inner strength and confidence to fight abusers of all types. I am a very strong athlete. I was a competitive runner in High school and College running both Cross-country and Track and winning MVP on both levels of competition. In high school I managed a soccer team that were state champs five years in a row. I love swimming, tennis, and horseback riding. I am an experienced rock climber and outdoor traveler. I have walked the El Camino through France and Spain, 1500km. I hiked the entire Southeast Coast of the United States of America from Key Largo Florida to Norfolk Virginia.
I have a Degree in Botany from Salem college with a concentration in Psychology and Physical Education. I took this educational foundation and incorporated it with studies in Health, History, Integrative Medicine, Trauma Healing, Ethnopharmacology, Real Estate, Public Speaking and finance to establish a platform that creates a successful program of renewal.
I am a survivor of multiple traumas including Domestic Violence, Assuault, Rape, physical violence, mental abuse, human trafficking, sex trafficking, military trauma, and more. One of the first steps to moving out of trauma for me was recognizing that I was in the trauma. After realizing what I was in, I was able to see how those abusers tried to take me away from myself and force me to become someone I was not in order to maintain control of me.
Abusers are predatory and will prey on different aspects of a persons life. In my experience there were some who allowed me to develop inner confidence and physical health to use me for their resource. IE: Sex trafficking. There were others who would completely break me down and destroy my confidence to make me weak and unhealthy so they could feel powerful that way. I had to recognize all forms of abuse to learn how to escape it and stay away from it.
There were abusers who took away my strength and confidence to defend myself; created illogical confusion; removed my ability to speak clear or sometimes at all through their abusive gaslighting words and actions. They worked to turn me into a person who agreed with them, also known as people pleasing, and cooperated with they so they could stay safe. As a result of the many years of abuse I began to develop both mental and physiological "illnesses" that I realized were created by the abusers as a result of the traumas they induced on my life. Recognizing this was a major step out of what they had created. Moving into a place where I could feel safe to be me again created personal security. Living away from the abuse, I began to see and feel the changes they created in me as well as what the illnesses were and how to remove them. This was one of many ways I recovered my health and safety.
Another form of abuse I endured that is less recognized was when I was sex trafficked. My path into sex trafficking resulted from a kidnapping. The kidnapping appeared as a vacation with friends and once I was away from my home with the "friends" that is when I was shown where I was and what was going to happen. I was a product that needed to perform. I was taken to a sex school where I was taught "how to have sex". Each day after this I was introduced to people who performed different roles in the program. For example: My body was "conditioned" through exercise in a gym where I was taken and "trained". Because I was being monitored, I could not ask for help at the gym. I was surrounded by people who were "supportive". They "helped me" learn how to get in shape, maintain good health and take care of my physical body so I could perform. I was given beautiful things so I could be a beautiful person for an upscale group of people for obvious reasons. Because I was a young teen I was unable to speak up and escape quickly. I felt vulnerable and scared. I had to learn how to escape. I did escape.
Healthy Renewals is about redeveloping a know thyself mentality. A return to your truth and confidence. Knowing boundaries, setting them around the right people and reigniting the strength and fire within your spirit to maintain truth and clarity of who you are and what you need. I look forward to working with you.
